Featured productions

PowerArts has been intimately involved with a number of musical theatre productions in its first few years.  With well-known Australian producer John Frost, PowerArts has invested in the Australian National Tours of Doctor Zhivago, Wicked, Chicago, Fame and Calendar Girls. With Arts Asia Pacific, we have produced the National Tour of Avenue Q, in collaboration with the State Theatre Company of South Australia, Matthew Robinson's new Australian musical, Metro Street and, with the Sydney Theatre Company, we produced the first Australian production of Broadway's Tony Award winner, Spring Awakening.

Recently we made our Broadway debut as investors in the critically acclaimed Exit The King starring Geoffrey Rush, and as co-producers on the highly anticipated How To Succeed In Business WIthout Really Trying starring Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe.

 

Annie

Annie Based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip,  Little Orphan Annie, Annie  the musical was an instant hit from its opening in 1977, running for six years on Broadway at the Alvin Theatre. With music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and the book by Thomas Meehan, it spawned numerous productions in many countries, as well as national tours, it won the Tony Award for Best Musical, and went on to become a world-wide smash-hit movie musical starring Aileen Quinn, Albert Finney and ...read more
